Wizz Air increases the number of flights to Kiev

Four times a week from Memmingen to the Ukraine

Due to the high demand of flights from Memmingen to the Ukrainian capital Kiev, Wizz Air, the biggest low-fare airline in Eastern Europe with the head quarter in Hungary, increases the weekly flights from three to four. This was announced during the press conference at the Airport Memmingen. With Lemberg (Lviv) and Belgrade two further destinations in Eastern Europe will be offered through Wizz Air.

Since August 2009 Wizz Air has been flying with an airbus A 320 with 180 seats to Kiev. As a result of approx. 85 % load factor, the company decided to add an additional Kiev flight from the summer schedule on. Already from the 18 th of December on the new route from Memmingen to the Ukrainian Lemberg will start. From April 2011 on Belgrade will be on the flight timetable as well. In the upcoming year Wizz Air is planning to raise their passenger numbers from 60.000 to 110.000. “Due to the proximity to Munich and the important touristy region the “Allgäu”, the Airport comes with huge strategic advantages, which we have to use”, says the Wizz Air Marketing Director Attila Dankovics. In addition the fast handling and the short ways are plus factors. In the long-term the ambitious east Europe countries are also a big market opportunity for the winter tourism in the Bavarian Alps. Attila Dankovics emphasized that his airline, which comes with more than 34 modern Airbus A320, range in between the low cost segment, but low prices do not mean low service. Thus on several Wizz Air flights passengers are allowed to carry one luggage with up to 32 kilos at no charge.
