Parking with logic at the Allgäu Airport

Since the opening day of the Allgäu Airport the comfortable and cheap parking belongs to one of its plus points for passengers and visitors. Thanks to the new digital guidance system it is now even more comfortable. From now on passengers can use 2.700 parking lots in different numbered and colored zones. About an enlargement was being thought, as well: A retrofitting to an ultra-modern guidance system as it exists at big airports like Frankfurt would be no problem at all.

Two big digital displays, placed on the gateway to the airport ground and directly on the Terminal access road, and several smaller information signs make all available parking lots visible to the driver. “The new signage is very clearly arranged and makes the access much easier because of the colored division and identification” comments Ralf Schmid, the announcer of the Allgäu Airport management, the comfort advancement.

The new system was linked to the already existing software and is now controlled by the staff members of the parking area. A reliable counting is made by induction loops which start when cars enter or exit the parking area. The Airport has six different parking areas: From the Kiss & Fly area direct in front of the terminal to unload or pick up, free of charge up to 30 minutes, up to a short-time, business and three long-term car parks around the ground.
