First Place for Allgäu Airport

Memminger airport gained the €URO ANNIE Award

Great honor for the Allgäu Airport: The Airport gained one of the most in demand “€URO ANNIE” awards 2010 of the British branch information service Anna Aero. The analyzers loaned the airport with the so called “Airport Traffic Growth Award”, which worldwide compares and awards the growth of the airports every year.

In the category”up to one million passengers a year” Memmingen prevailed over the Rumanian airport Bacau with his exceptional growth rate of 75,8 % in the year 2009. Further winners are the Airport Trapani in Sicilia, which is one of the current Ryanair destinations of Memmingen as well as Brussels Charleroi and the airports Sabiha Gökcen and Ataturk of Istanbul. The awards are based on exactly calculated numbers and not on subjective estimations of the jurors, accented the publisher Ralph Anker at the disposition.

For Ralf Schmid, announcer of the Allgäu Airport management, the award is a confirmation to be on the right path as a young company, which is also reassured because of the economic success of the year 2009 in which the airport was in the black.
